FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 Predictions

FISSURE Universe

Welcome to a new Fissure Universe prediction. This time is Fissure Universe Season 8!

The Main Event (January 29–February 1) plays into a double-elimination bracket, meaning no group stage, no nothing. We have some heavyweight invites – including Team Spirit, Team Liquid, BetBoom Team, MOUZ, and Team Yandex. As usual, I’m Greg Spencer, and we move to the predictions.

Day 4 FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 Predictions (01-02-2026) – Finals

Overall score: 3/4 predictions correct; I’ll take that.
Yandex delivered exactly as expected: disciplined, aggressive, and allergic to passive farming. Liquid and MOUZ paid the price. BetBoom collapsed the moment Huskar stopped being a free win button.

Aurora, though… yeah. Never betting against them again. Lorenof is officially on my blacklist, in a respectful, terrified way.

Team Yandex

If Yandex stomps lanes early and keeps the tempo high, they absolutely can take the series. They’re scary when they get momentum and don’t let Spirit breathe. But if a game goes long, I trust Spirit’s decision-making more. Yandex can snowball, but Spirit is better at slowing games down and flipping them with one fight. I am going to risk it here and go with Spirit to win. We’ll see how Yandex does in the BLAST Slam VI.

Prediction Correct!

What did I tell you? Spirit is just a better team in the late-game scenarios. More than that, why would you pick a QoP carry for Watson if the guy is a farmer? I think Yandex lost just because of the draft.

I’ll be honest, I did not expect Aurora to be here, but they’ve earned it the hard way. That said, a Bo5 heavily favors Team Spirit—deeper hero pools, better adaptations, and way more experience in long series. Aurora can definitely take a game if Spirit gets sloppy or underestimates them, but over five maps, that’s hard to repeat. Spirits are masters at adjusting drafts and shutting down what works once. I’m calling a Spirit win, probably a 3–1.

Prediction Wrong!

Congratulations to Aurora Gaming. I (and honestly most of the community) had Team Spirit winning this, but Aurora looked insanely good in the Grand Finals. Ws and Lorenof were huge all series, and yeah—Largo with Aghs looks completely broken, straight-up IO vibes but tankier and AoE. Super happy for Nightfall as well; he finally got a big one.

Day 3 FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 Predictions (30-01-2026)

After Day 2 of FISSURE Universe: Episode 8, I’m 4-1 with a 80% win rate. Why not 100%? Because I once again bet against Aurora Gaming. Now, onto the predictions.

Team Yandex

2 1

Mouz dota2 team MOUZ

It’s a tough call, but Yandex seems more stable. MOUZ might take a map with their risky playstyle, but overall, Yandex is far ahead. I’m backing Team Yandex to win.

Prediction Correct!

Told you! Team Yandex is more structured. You can’t just pick mid Slark and hope it works. MidOne’s style doesn’t fit this meta. Sadly, MOUZ is going home.

Two days ago, I would’ve picked BetBoom over Liquid. But in this tournament, BetBoom isn’t at their best. Meanwhile, Team Liquid narrowly lost a BO3 to Team Spirit. I’m backing Nisha and his squad to win. If BB loses, they also miss the Blast Slam VI.

Prediction Correct!

Pffff, absolute bloodbath. As I predicted, Liquid DESTROYED BetBoom in games 2 and 3. Nisha went on his Slardar mid 17-0. BetBoom won game 1 just because of the Huskar (which is pretty broken on mid).

Throughout the tournament, I lost only 2 bets, both by betting against Aurora. But if Aurora manages to beat Team Spirit—who are currently in peak form and playing with robotic precision—it would be surprising. I’m confident Team Spirit will take the win.

Prediction Wrong!

For the third time, Aurora Gaming proved me wrong. In FISSURE Universe: Episode 8, I lost three bets on them. How is this even possible? Lorenof is an absolute monster; in game 1 on Huskar, he basically dismantled Storm. In Game 2 he went 16-1 on the puck.

Team Yandex

2 O

I really love Team Liquid. But I believe that Team Yandex has the gameplay to beat them. You see, Yandex is not a heavy-farm-oriented team. They always go for ganks early on, and I believe this is the kryptonite for Liquid. Going with Yandex to win.

Prediction Correct!

Call me Mystic Greg. What did I tell you? Yandex always looks for ganks. In game 1 they even had a comeback, and there was no answer for Brewmaster.

Day 2 FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 Predictions

Actually a pretty bad day for me. I mean, Liquid winning against MOUZ is somehow understandable. But man, BetBoom losing against Aurora Gaming – I would have never expected that in a million years. Also, the Team Spirit match was rescheduled for today because Mirele (the young midlaner) played the qualifier for Yellow Submarine and couldn’t attend the Fissure. Let’s see how we do on day 2.

No team Strong Boys

Bet the house on Team Spirit. I just want to see some improvements in the midlane from Team Spirit. Mirele took Larl’s spot in the team.

Prediction Correct!

Absolute dominance by Team Spirit. And yeah, Mirele seems like an improvement for now.

Mouz dota2 team MOUZ

2 O

No team Strong Boys

MOUZ shall win convincingly. To me, Strong Boys didn’t show any fight against Team Spirit, but again—that’s Team Spirit. Going with MOUZ to win.

Prediction Correct!

What a comeback in game 1 by MOUZ! You see… This is experience right here. They were behind 11k in net worth, and then 1 big team fight, and they won and pushed the throne.

Team Yandex

2 1

Based on the matches that we have already seen in the Fissure Universe Episode 8, it’s safe to say that Yandex should chase Aurora on the map. The only chance Aurora has is if they drag it into the heavy late game, which I don’t believe they can. Going with Yandex to win.

Prediction Wrong!

What did I tell you? Aurora was behind in both games; they dragged it to the late game and just destroyed Team Yandex. So, Team Yandex did the same mistake twice, letting Nightfall farm for 40 minutes.

We can’t go against Team Spirit. I think they will ragdoll. Team Liquid in both games, and I think they are the favorite to win this Fissure Universe Episode 8.

Prediction Correct!

Usually I would flame Team Liquid a little bit, because to me they rely too much on the early team fights. But man, that game 2 with Nisha on Huskar put them back on track. They lost the match, but they gained my respect.

No team Power Rangers

O 2

We have to go with BetBoom, even though they threw yesterday like crazy. Going with BetBoom to win.

Prediction Correct!

BetBoom barely won the game. Either the Power Rangers are that good, or BetBoom just plays badly. I’m not impressed by their performance in the Fissure Universe Episode 8.

Day 1 FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 Predictions

Day 1 Fissure Universe 8

Mouz dota2 team MOUZ

2 1

Team Liquid historically has a slight edge across their broader H2H history, but their recent losses to MOUZ show me that Liquid may have struggles to adapt to this new meta. I believe that MOUZ is a better team here and will beat Team Liquid. Going with MOUZ to win.

Prediction Wrong!

So, MOUZ believed that selecting SF three times for Cyrstallys was a strategic decision. But that would work against a team that always learns from their mistakes. And yeah, Nisha carried Liquid to this win.

Team Yandex

2 O

No team Power Rangers

There is no secret that Team Yandex is a heavy favorite. But man, this stack (Power Rangers) knocked down Virtus Pro from the qualifiers. (Can you believe this?) Still, I believe Team Yandex should ragdoll them here.

Prediction Correct!

Quick 2 games from Yandex. They play like the old OG, nonstop fighting and then just outfarm the enemy cores. Props to them.

I am one of the biggest haters of Aurora. They almost LOST the qualifiers for a tier 2 tournament. Look at the play-in from Aurora. I believe BetBoom is a way better team; if they don’t throw, expect an easy 2-0.

Prediction Wrong!

OMG! This is the biggest upset in the tournament so far. WR carry from Nightfall just dismantled BetBoom. It is just so strange; how in the world would a team like BB lose the lanes? Mind-blowing….
