Tundra Esports
They lifted the trophy. They took down Team Yandex 3:1 in the grand final after an absolute war. I called it in the finals—Tundra is just scarier when games go long, and they proved it by turning around that Game 2 like absolute monsters. Four tournament wins this season? These guys are on another level right now. Pure, BZM, 33, Ari, Whitemon—the squad is clicking perfectly.
Team Yandex
Pfff, what a run from the "new" squad (ex-Cyber Goose core with Watson, CHIRA_JUNIOR, Noticed, Saksa, and Malady). They topped Group A with a ridiculous record, played the cleanest 5-man Dota in the tournament, and choked out so many teams in mid-game. Watson looked angry and carried hard in spots. They took maps off Tundra and made the grand final as a real contender. And I was right, they are scary in execution. Just fell a bit short against Tundra's adaptability and late-game power. Huge respect; they're here to stay.
Xtreme Gaming
Ame's boys made the Top 3/4 (lost to Yandex in the lower bracket final). They looked comfortable on the patch at times, but exactly like I said, the worst matchup for them is a team that pushes around 30 minutes. Yandex exposed that perfectly. Weird drafts (beast carry for Ame, useless mids) hurt them again. Ame is still a late-game monster, but the team needs better mid-game discipline. Solid showing, but not quite elite this time.
PARIVISION
What a comeback. From almost going home in groups (that painful 2:0 loss to GamerLegion) to a strong lower bracket run and 4th place. Satanic and Noone had moments where they looked on fire, and the safe lane was often their edge. But drafts kept betraying them—Morphling on Satanic, failing to reach mid-game, and weird beast picks. They bounced back impressively after the group stage disaster, but consistency and closing games are still the big issues. I believe that the patch somehow benefits them, but they need to do something with their offlane; you can't have 3 cores that are farming non-stop.
Team Spirit
5th-6th place. Yatoro remains the GOAT hard carry—whenever they let him farm (Medusa games especially), he just outfarms everyone. Disciplined macros are still in their DNA, but they dropped unexpected maps and series. Not as dominant as usual. They had the tools but couldn't quite put it together against the top teams this time. What makes me doubt the team is the support duo and obviously Larl. Man, when will these kids start playing more aggressively? You have the best carry in the scene and arguably one of the best offlaners in the sport, and you can't do a thing in the mid-game?
Aurora Gaming
Also 5-6th. They topped Group B looking super stable with clean mid-game control and flexible drafts (that SF mid for Mikoto was nasty). Nightfall farms a ton, and the 5-man play is smooth. They felt sharp but got stopped in the playoffs. Consistent and dangerous. But, as soon as the patch dropped, they looked shaky. More than that, I don't understand why you would pick a semi-carry for Nightfall. This dude is one of the most greedy cores (if not the most) in the scene. Why this beast? Let Mikoto play this beast on mid, like BZM is playing.
Team Falcons
Just pure disappointment. They had flashes and weird drafts that sometimes worked, but the gaps in execution showed up. Skirmishes on non-hard carries (Void, Abaddon) looked painful more than once. They can drag games and suffocate you, but against disciplined teams, they often fall short. I don't want to be the guy that points fingers, but man, Skiter looked bad. Did you see that void carry? What was that? Either the meta doesn't suit them, or something is clearly wrong inside the team.
MOUZ
Classic MOUZ: When the yolo/aggressive chaos works, they look like a Tier 1 team. When it doesn't… they collapse hard. Unpredictable as always — bullying some teams then losing badly to others. The "if yolo doesn't work, they can't win" script played out again. I honestly think that they might be one of the best teams IF (a big IF) they change the strategy a little bit. For example, they have position 1 and position 2 doing EXACTLY the same job. They both run around for kills non-stop; they need 1 reliable core, one that farms a lot.
GamerLegion
Big props for the group stage heroics (that RCY/Kez mid was a monster). They took maps off big teams and forced tiebreakers (that's how PARIVISION got the slot in the playoffs). They showed they can compete in midgame, but the late game exposed the gap. People should take them more seriously next time. And Shad is fitting pretty well in this team, to be honest.
Virtus.pro
They showed up in groups but lacked structure and fed too much in key moments. A farming/scaling style is there, but the team-fight execution is just one of the worst in the tournament. Usually, I would blame SaberLight for this kind of skirmish, but no, Abed also didn't have any game where I could say, Yeah…the guy carried VP to a win.
BetBoom Team
They are the definition of inconsistency. Chaotic as ever. Great at winning lanes sometimes, scary on the last day of groups, but horrible at pushing high ground and executing when ahead. I swear to God, you never know what you're going to get. Sometimes I feel like they choke mentally; they don't know what to do on the map; they don't understand when they are ahead.
Pain Gaming
Actually, I am pretty impressed by Pain Gaming. Wits had some monster games (SF ragdolling people); chaotic fights were their only real win condition. They stole maps here and there but couldn't hang with the top. The kid has a bright future, though.
OG
Oh my God, they struggled heavily. Too kill-focused, forgot about map control and farming way too often. Sloppy execution, no old-school, nonstop aggression. They need a reset—a coach change or back to basics. Not ready for this level right now. Where is the old OG? What happened?
Yakult Brothers
Improved carry play (Ghost looked solid) and some nice comebacks (that Rapier TA high ground defense vs Tundra!), but overall outclassed. Unpredictable chaos gave them a few wins, but not enough.
REKONIX
Weird picks and chaos didn't cut it against disciplined teams. Early exits, barely any maps. Not their tournament. Also, did you notice that they struggle in the laning phase? Barely won 2 maps in the group stage. I feel like they need a coach or some directions; otherwise they can't hang with the big dogs.
Nigma Galaxy
It's just hard to comment… Spark is still there even without SumaiL — they took maps with fast execution and surprised a few teams. New carry wasn't bad at all. But man, they lack a lot of raw skill. So, they put No!ob back on the midlane, but he is the same passive guy who wants to farm here and there. I don't know, their team just doesn't look ready for tier 1 Dota.
Final Thoughts
The patch favored structured, macro-heavy, 5-man teams (Tundra and Yandex), while pure chaos/yolo squads (MOUZ, OG, and sometimes BetBoom/PARIVISION) suffered more. Tundra proved they can turn any game around and are the most complete team right now. Yandex is the exciting rising force with insane execution. Which team surprised you the most, or what are you hyped for next?
