Best Mid Players of 2025 season

Welcome to the 2025 awards in Dota 2. Today, we’re going to rank the best midlaners of the 2025 season. The rankings are based on results and community feedback based on this post from Reddit. So, who truly ruled the mid-lane in 2025? Here are the 10 best mid-lane players of the 2025 Dota 2 season, ranked by their impact on the biggest stages in the world.

10. Xm (Xtreme Gaming)

Well, the 2025 season was a bit of a roller coaster for Xtreme Gaming; they struggled in several mid-season tournaments like DreamLeague and Riyadh Masters. However, at the International 2025, Xm was the engine behind their “revival” in the final months of the year. Xm was the breakout mid laner of The International 2025. He led Xtreme Gaming through a perfect, undefeated Group Stage (4-0), where they even handed the eventual champions, Team Falcons, a loss.

9. SumaiL (Nigma Galaxy)

Syed “SumaiL” Hassan takes the #9 spot after a year that felt like a true “rebirth” for the King. I mean, the guy led Nigma Galaxy to a Top 6 finish at TI 2025, far exceeding community expectations and my expectations. He was statistically one of the strongest mid laners at the event, finishing with a 7.29 KDA and a high kill participation rate over 24 maps. The king is back!

8. MidOne (MOUZ Esports)

Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng takes the #8 spot for executing the most impressive mid-season comeback of 2025. You need to understand that the guy went AFK for 2 years and then came back and won the PGL Wallachia Season 6 with Mouz. MidOne’s inclusion in the Top 10 is defined by a “Second Prime.” MOUZ’s entire playstyle revolved around MidOne’s versatility. He was the team’s primary playmaker, often sacrificing his own net worth to create space for Crystallis, yet still delivering massive teamfight impact.

7. Larl (Team Spirit)

Spirit.Larl

Denis “Larl” Sigitov lands at #7, serving as the “Iron Anchor” for a Team Spirit roster that remained a top-tier threat throughout the 2025 season. Larl is often overshadowed by the flashy plays of Collapse or the star power of Yatoro. Yes, he isn’t the strongest laner or the flashiest midlaner. However, he is the guy who cuts a creep wave and is willing to die for his position 1 or 3. The highlight of Larl’s season was Spirit’s dominant run at the Esports World Cup (Riyadh Masters) in July. Spirit swept Team Falcons 3-0 in the Grand Final. He finished the tournament with one of the most stable scorelines of any mid player.

6. Mikoto (Aurora Gaming)

Rafli “Mikoto” Fathur Rahman takes the #6 spot as the undisputed king of Southeast Asian Dota. Well, now we could throw Yopaj in this discussion as well. Mikoto ended the 2025 season with a mind-blowing 9.08 KDA, the third-highest of any mid laner globally. What makes this impressive is that he achieved it while playing for Talon Esports and Aurora, teams that had significantly lower win rates than the big trio (Falcons, Spirit, PARIVISION). He has this “one-man army” mindset where he carries the game.

5. Nisha (Team Liquid)

MichaƂ “Nisha” Jankowski takes the #5 spot. In 2025, Nisha remained the gold standard for midlaners even in this season where Team Liquid felt some fatigue. Nisha was the best midlaner in the 2024 season, and now he is breaking into the top 5. The first half of the year belonged to Nisha. He led Liquid to back-to-back championships at PGL Wallachia Season 3 and Season 4. The other mid laners relied on a core pool of 4-5 heroes; Nisha played 11 different heroes in just 5 series at The International 2025.

4. bzm (Tundra Esports)

Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov claims the #4 spot, marking 2025 as the year he officially transitioned from a “young prospect” into a serial champion. After years of carrying a struggling OG roster, his move to Tundra Esports was the best move of his career. I know that many of you here think that he sucks on mid, but let me remind you that bzm won four consecutive BLAST Slam titles. More than that, throughout the year, Tundra and Falcons had a bit of a rivalry, and Bzm was one of the few mid laners who could consistently shut down Malr1ne in the laning stage, most notably during Tundra’s 3-2 reverse sweep victory at FISSURE Belgrade.

3. No[o]ne- (PARIVISION)

Volodymyr “No[o]ne-“ Minenko secures the #3 spot after a season that many fans are calling the greatest “veteran comeback” in Dota 2 history. After a few years away from the Tier 1 Dota, No[o]ne- returned in 2025 as the leader of PARIVISION, proving that he is still arguably the most oppressive laner in the world. If the 2025 season were a movie, No[o]ne- would be the protagonist. He didn’t just compete; he dominated, leading a newly formed PARIVISION roster to the very top of the EPT (ESL Pro Tour) leaderboards. I mean, the guy won ESL One Raleigh 2025, DreamLeague Season 26, and 3rd at the International 2025. What else do you want? Let me give you more than: Statistically, No[o]ne- finished 2025 with the highest “Lane Win Rate” of any player on this list. Pro players in post-match interviews throughout the year (including Quinn and Malr1ne) repeatedly saying that he is the most difficult person to 1v1 because of his perfect creep aggro and spell timing.

2. gpk~ (BetBoom Team)

Danil “gpk~ “Skutin secures the #2 spot, ending 2025 as the statistically most dominant mid laner in professional Dota 2. He has always been known for his mechanical strength; 2025 was the year he added “consistency” and “championship pedigree” to his resume, carrying BetBoom Team through an exhausting and highly successful season. Gpk~’s year was defined by the “1v9” narrative. Even during series where BetBoom struggled with team cohesion or late-game shot-calling, gpk~ was almost always winning his lane and topping the net worth charts. In the end, if you look at the raw skill, gpk~ is the king of 2025.

1. Malr1ne (Team Falcons)

Malr1ne Dota 2

Finally, we reach the summit. Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak is the undisputed #1 Mid Laner of 2025. While other players on this list had higher KDAs or more “perfect” laning phases, my boy Malr1ne was the heartbeat of the team that defined the year. Needless to say, he led Team Falcons to victory at TI 2025 in Hamburg, defeating Xtreme Gaming 3-2 in one of the most competitive Grand Finals in recent memory. You can argue about who is more mechanically gifted, but you can’t argue with the results. Malr1ne won everything that mattered in 2025. He is the standard.

One thing is certain: the gap between the Top 1 and the Top 10 has never been smaller. Keep an eye on these names—they’ll be the ones setting the meta we’ll all be trying to copy in our pubs next week. Thanks for reading!”
