Solo Dota2 9Pandas

9Pandas Dota 2 team member Alexey “Solo” Berezin shared what motivates him to play on the professional scene. The esports player shared his thoughts during a personal broadcast on Twitch.

[Question: “What motivates you to play pro-Dota?”]

That’s a tough question. What motivates me is the desire to finish my career with a strong result. I want to prove to myself that I haven’t lost my edge over the years. I also want to build a team that can continue playing at a high level even after I leave. That’s my main motivation.
I don’t have a personal motivation beyond that. I understand that not many Tier-1 players would want to team up with me because I’m considered an old-timer. Sometimes, I get invited as a stand-in. Recently, some strong teams invited me to Tier-1 tournaments because they had visa issues, but I couldn’t go since I didn’t have a visa myself. Maybe I would still play in a strong roster if the opportunity came up.
My main goal is to finish my career with good results—to qualify for a Tier-1 tournament, perform well there, and help my team succeed while passing my experience on to younger players.
